Terms of Use
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Peiliang An (安培良), an individual developer for the Puppy Sudoku app and website (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority, you need permission from a parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms for you.
2. Your game account
- The app creates an anonymous game account for you. You can create a recovery code to move your progress to another device. Keep it private: anyone with it can access your progress.
- One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings > Data & Privacy. Deletion is permanent.
3. Licence
We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for non-commercial entertainment. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or exploit the Service, its puzzles or art, except as allowed by law.
4. Virtual items
- Coins, tools, cards, photos, cosmetics, pass rewards and other virtual items ("Virtual Items") are a limited licence to use content inside the game. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for real money, and are not your property.
- You may swap duplicate cards with other players only through the in-game features. Selling, buying or transferring Virtual Items or accounts outside the game is not allowed.
- We may change, rebalance or remove Virtual Items or features, for example to fix bugs or prevent abuse. Items obtained through bugs, cheating or refunded payments may be removed.
- Random rewards: clearing a level always gives that level's featured dog card plus one of its photos chosen at random. Random rewards are never sold for money.
5. Purchases
- Purchases in the iOS app are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple's terms. Prices are shown in the App Store in your local currency and may include taxes.
- Except where required by law, purchases are final. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the related items or benefits are removed.
- Consumable items (coins, tool packs, bundles, the Puppy Pass) are used up or apply only to the current season and are not restored by "Restore Purchases". Non-consumable items (Lifetime No-Ads Pass, theme sets) and an active membership can be restored on the same Apple Account.
- Puppy Pass: unlocks the premium reward track for the current season only (seasons usually last 21 days). Rewards you have reached are delivered automatically when the season ends.
- Lifetime No-Ads Pass: removes interstitial and banner ads and lets you claim reward-video rewards without watching, for as long as we offer the Service. Bonus coins and tools included with it are granted once.
6. Monthly Membership (auto-renewable subscription)
- Monthly Membership lasts 1 month and costs US$4.99 per month or the local price shown in the App Store before purchase.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription automatically renews for the same period and price unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings (Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions). Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep the benefits until the end of the paid period. Deleting the app or your game account does not cancel the subscription.
- Benefits: no interstitial or banner ads, reward-video rewards without watching, and a daily bonus that can be claimed once per day while the subscription is active. Unclaimed daily bonuses do not carry over.
- If we change the price, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask for your consent.
7. Ads
The free game shows ads provided by Google AdMob. Rewarded videos are optional. Ad choices are explained in the Privacy Policy.
8. Community rules
When you use nicknames, friends, gifts, card swaps, the Trade Plaza or leaderboards, you agree not to:
- use nicknames that are offensive, hateful, sexual, harassing, contain personal information, or impersonate staff, Apple or other people;
- harass, threaten or scam other players, or ask them for money or personal information;
- cheat, use bots or modified clients, exploit bugs, or interfere with the servers;
- create multiple accounts to manipulate gifts, invitations, swaps or leaderboards.
You can block or report any player from the "..." menu next to their name. We review reports and may reset nicknames, remove listings, restrict social features, or suspend accounts.
Some profiles in the Trade Plaza, friend suggestions and event boards are computer-controlled characters provided by us to make swaps and events easier to join.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you break these Terms or the law, with notice where reasonable. You may stop using the Service at any time. If we shut down the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app; Virtual Items, the Lifetime No-Ads Pass and other benefits end when the Service ends, except where the law requires otherwise.
10. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may update the game and these Terms. We will post changes on this page and update the effective date; for material changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of Virtual Items. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.
12. Apple-specific terms
- These Terms are between you and Peiliang An (安培良), not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price (if any) of the app; Apple has no other warranty obligation.
- Apple is not responsible for any claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or consumer protection claims.
- Apple is not responsible for investigating or defending any third-party claim that the app infringes intellectual property rights.
- You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of mainland China (People's Republic of China), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence and may bring claims in your local courts.
